Sister Robyn Branning, from the Stake Relief Society Presidency sent the following update about the service projects we completed during the Stake Women's Conference on February 6, 2010.
I want to report that we donated over 250 hangers of clothing (some with 2 items on the hanger!) to Dress for Success. We donated just over 100 phones to Cell Phones for Soldiers. We made and delivered just over 200 Valentine’s Day cards to Volunteer Houston. We also made or donated approximately 70 blankets to Project Linus. We collected about 6 large boxes of donated fabric, ribbon, yarn, etc. to Project Linus as well. And last but not least, we made and delivered 144 toiletry bags to the Houston Area Women's Center. Our chapel was decorated beautifully with the amazing quilts sewn and donated by many sisters in the stake and our food area was gorgeous and fun! If you find yourself at the Stake Center, take a look at the Stake RS bulletin board where there are many photo memories of the day!
I wish you could all have joined Sister Criddle and me as we made some deliveries and visits to these organizations. The gratitude from these people was so heartfelt and warm and reminded us of how much need there is in the communities around us. Thank you again and again for the efforts that were made in behalf of our brothers and sisters who may be less fortunate at this time.
Love,
Sister Branning
