- The scriptures are more interactive. You can highlight text, write notes, cross reference, etc. Click on Menu, then under Study (over in the far right column, choose Scriptures.
- The ward directory is easier to use. You can search by the first (that's new!) or last name of any family member. You can upload pictures of your family to the directory. You can change your own information, update phone numbers, email addresses, etc. Click on Tools, then choose Directory from the drop down menu. (You will also need to make changes for the regular http://www.lds.org/ website directory through the clerk's office at church since not everyone is using http://www.new.lds.org/.)
- The calendar has some neat features, but it hasn't been widely used yet. Our ward calendar doesn't have any information added to it yet.
Here are some of the other Church sites that you should check out as well:
- http://mormon.org/ This site has basic information about the church. It is a great place to direct friends and acquaintances who want to learn more about our faith.
- http://beta-newsroom.lds.org/ The Newsroom is the Church's "official resource" for information.
- http://www.familysearch.org/eng/default.asp This is the place to learn more about family history and genealogy.
